As long as you’re choosy about who you follow, Twitter is a news source. Facebook is just fat chicks from high school trying to get you to comment on pictures of their kids.

I used to feel the same way about Twitter, but I’ve come around too.

What’s great is the real-time feed. Getting instant reactions on news and events; that’s valuable.

For example, last night I watched a documentary on Scott Hall featured on E:60. I thought the segment was fantastic, albeit very heart-wrenching to watch.

The response to the segment caused ‘Scott Hall’ to be a trending topic on Twitter…a guy who hasn’t been in mainstream public conscience is nearly 10 years, and now everyone is talking. Quite amazing.

I’d say the vast majority of people don’t have the will power to follow the points you’ve written. Our generation has become social media whores with the attention span of a gold fish…. Twiter, Facebook and the rest cater perfectly to that.
